About us![]() Zion's Glory Church is registered under the Government of British Columbia, Canada to provide integrated ministry on a national basis. Besides the spiritual ministry in the country, the Church has been developing a number of different works and has the vision to accomplish more. One of the areas where the church is focusing it's resources at the moment is in locally to reach many Ethiopians and Eritreans as well as for planting churches and development abroad.
Zion's Glory Church is one of the evangelical churches in Canada. The Church is established in 2009. In view of its holistic commitment, the church is preparing to be involved in social activities both in the rural and urban areas of our home land, Ethiopia. Ethiopia is a nation of young people. Thus, our passion is seeing this next generation discipled for Jesus Christ. Without a shadow of a doubt, Ethiopia's greatest resource and greatest need lies within these young people. There is a need to plant churches that appeal to this new generation; churches that are thoroughly Biblical and Holy Spirit led, that will disciple young leaders to grow up within the country, making a difference in every sphere of life. Considering the need of orphan's and street children's education throughout the country, the Church has a plan to establish orphanage, kindergarten and elderly care facility. The church's major focus and strength is the children and the youth ministry. |
Our core valuesThe essential marks that shape our identity and guide our actions:
Expectant prayer: We seek to make intercessory prayer a priority, inviting God to lead, to restore and to heal; to transform our world, our cities, villages, churches and our lives. John 14:15 - 31& Luke 11: 1 - 13 Authority of Scripture: We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God. We believe they are the standard by which we are to order our lives, express our faith and function as a community of believers. (2 Timothy 3: 16, 17) Personal Discipleship: We believe the church is called to make disciples who make disciples, living a life that is based on Jesus' great example: - exemplifying love, prayerfulness, holiness, integrity, accountability, humility and generosity, in the power of the Holy Spirit. Local church life: We believe in the priesthood of all believers; that the church should discern each person's calling and corporately and individually express God's love through the gifts and power of Holy Spirit ministry, praying, "Thy kingdom come on earth, as it is in heaven." We believe local church life in villages, towns and cities should be welcoming, relational and accessible for all generations and people groups, and should build family and community life. Biblical Leadership: We believe in anointed pastoral leadership that is visionary, courageous, humble, consistent, full of faith and releases church members into their God-given ministries. (Ephesians 4: 11- 16) Evangelism: We believe that we are to live our lives to make disciples and grow our churches in a manner that expresses the loving and longing heart of God for those who are separated from Jesus Christ and His church. (Matthew 9: 12-13 , Luke 15 & 1 Timothy 4: 1 - 5) Worship: We believe in worship that facilitates encounter with God through Word and Sacrament in the power of the Holy Spirit. Our worship - in glorifying God - is to be authentic and relevant, culturally appropriate. (John 4: 23 - 24 . I Corinthians 11: 23 - 26 , Acts 17: 22 - 24) Sacrificial Giving: We believe that we are called by God to be generous with our time, our talents and every resource. We are to share with the poor and those in need; to support the work of God among us and spread the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ezra 2:68 - 69 , Acts 2:44 - 47 & 1John 3:17 - 18) |
